I started off last week getting some more touch-up ink from Eddie at Sacred Apple. We've been working on the sleeve on my left arm for almost two years now! Luckily, it's almost done...
On Tuesday, my buddy Brian (from The Mound Builders) and I made the trip to Chicago to check out the In Flames show. This being my third time seeing them; I can definitely say that those dudes never disappoint. Their new CD is pretty sick too. I'm not into 'metal' as much as when I was younger, but their hooks can not be denied. I was pleasantly surprised to see Trivium get back to what I initially liked about them; more like Ascendancy, less of a Metallica/Machine Head copy cat.
Speaking of The Mound Builders, they were included in Heavy Planet's March Bandness Tournament (starting on Wednesday, February 29th) to be crowned the best Stoner Rock band. Think we can all send some votes their way on Wednesday?
Back on track...
Tuesday's tickle in my nose/throat had grown to full-blown sickness by the time our set for Lafayette Live rolled around on Wednesday; setting the pace for the rest of the week. Drew and I were there to plug our shows for the weekend and we soldiered on.
Here's the set:
"Settling"
"Pocket and Soul"
"Out of Our Hands"
"Dear Reason"
By the way, it was good to see Hillary Tribbett back in action on Wednesday. She's such an awesome writer and performer. It's a good idea to check her out before she skips town. No, really, she's setting up shop in LA in the near future...
Sending thanks messages to radio stations, guitar lessons, and IND practice on Thursday and Friday provided a nice change-of-pace from the coughing and nose-blowing and helped usher in Saturday for the week's main event at Aces Pub.
The Journal and Courier did a nice write-up and 93.5 was blasting ads to promote the show. Our buddies in Born Under Burden kicked off the night of mean rock and my crew kept it rolling.
Here's the set:
"Settling"
"Guilt that Keeps on Giving"
"Dear Reason"
"Feed Me a Lie"
"The Shadow I Will Leave"
"Boys of Summer" - Don Henley/Atari's cover
"Pocket and Soul"
"My Rx"
"Out of Our Hands"
"Point #1" - Chevelle cover
"Something Else is Something More" - Adrenaline cover
"Stuck" - Adrenaline cover
"Amputee" - Oceansize cover
"Before it Gets to Me"
"No Second Chance" - Adrenaline cover
"Heartkiller" - H.I.M. cover
It was a great night and great crowd. Set-wise, it's been a lot of fun rehashing some of the old Adrenaline tunes to mix up the set. They've been holding up really well with the new stuff. Honestly, I don't think the crowd noticed they were hearing some 10+ year old originals from some Clinton County teens.
If you missed it, we'll be hooking up with the Born Under Burden crew for some more shows in the future. Our history makes for some fiery performances and below-the-belt jokes. Don't miss 'em!
I wrapped up the week back at Aces last night running open mic. At one point we had about eight people on stage jamming hot fire. It was nuts! Thanks to Dan-O, Brady, Jay, Dennis, Tommy, Jim, Kimmie, and CP for throwing down.
That does it for the update.
Don't forget that I'll be unplugged at Java Roaster on Friday and weapons hot at La Parranda on Saturday. I hope to see you out!!
Whoa, we're already to the point where I type that you should follow @ChrisJuneIND on Twitter and 'Like' us on Facebook... :-)
Thanks for stopping by.
Over and out

This is the source for the inside scoop on Chris June IND; including writing, recording, performing, etc. You'll get more dirt here than tweets & status updates. Typically, new blog entries get posted every Monday and whenever something too interesting to not write about happens. I’ll try to keep my entries short-winded and light-hearted. Maybe I can make them funny. We’ll see.

12/5/11
December is here already. Looks like I'll need to get working on the 2011 recap soon.
It'll be a novel...
Until that happens, how about some of the usual?
First, I'd like to start by wishing both of my little bros a happy birthday. It's odd how they managed to be born on consecutive days (but years apart). It sucks that Jordan is celebrating his 21st in Afghanistan, but I'm sure his USMC buds are making it worthwhile. Luckily, he'll be home this month. No doubt that Joey, 19, will be celebrating for a couple of weeks: he'll be throwing it down fronting Thor on December 17th.
I spent most of last week running and peddling Whistle When We Break Down CDs, working on the "Out of Our Hands" video, and doing some updates to ChrisJuneIND.com.
Outside of that...
Tuesday was the radio add date for Whistle When We Break Down on 300 college radio stations. Initially I thought it was a national campaign, but there turned out to be some stations in Canada too. Again, I'll spill the beans on radio reports/charting as the info come in. Kudos to Tinderbox Music for getting on board and making this happen!
If you're interested in seeing the station list, I'll post the it at the end of the blog. If you have friends and family or know students in these markets and tip them off, I certainly appreciate it!!
I stopped in at Sacred Apple on Wednesday to get more ink in my left arm. It's healing up nicely. Thanks to them for being an IND sponsor & taking care of me. I'm looking forward to sporting their new shirt & my new work at shows.
I barely made it to catch the end of the Frankfort Applebee's Open Mic on Thursday. There were several new faces/acts in attendance. I'm glad it's starting to pick up. Jason Wells is doing some good work over there.
The Jurassic Park Pop Fest went down at the Lafayette Theater on Saturday afternoon. My bro & I stopped in to see Why I Like Robins' set, but it turns out they got bumped from the bill. That was a bummer, but I was entertained by other acts (wishing I'd have taken notes on what their names were).
Coming up this week:
Between administrative work, IND practice, and guitar lessons, I'll be hanging at Lafayette Live at the Lafayette Theater on Wednesday night & running sound at Black Sparrow on Friday night. I'll most definitely have CDs on me.
Also, IND drummer Chris Parker will be filling in for our buds in The Enders for their shows in Lafayette at Foam City on 12/9 and Indianapolis at Indy's Jukebox on 12/10. If you're hip to aggressive/punk/hardcore-ish tunes, make stops at their shows!
That does it for the weekly update. Thanks for stopping by!
As always, to get mini-updates between blogs, catch me on Twitter: @ChrisJuneIND and Facebook: Listn.to/ChrisJuneIND.
Have a great week!!

It has been another productive week! Ready for the lowdown? Here we go!!
Thanks to Bitsy Matatall and Shea Hack at the WBAA Local Music Show for having me in the studio last week. We chatted about the past, present, & future of Chris June IND and had a lot of laughs. Also, I performed acoustic versions of "Out of Our Hands" and "Before it Gets to Me." These will be played on their Podcast along with "Settling," "Dear Reason," and the interview. If you 'like' the Chris June IND Fan Page on Facebook, you'll get the update when it goes live on their page.
Speaking of the Fan Page, I've been getting some 'likes' from fans of Arch Drive Goodbye recently. I appreciate the referrals, dudes! I have been digging on their song "Autumn Reigns" quite a bit. Luckily, they had a few drinks one night & agreed to let me cover it. I'm sneaky like that. :-)
Moving on...
Rockerbox gave me the opportunity to open for them at their show at Traditions in Watseka, IL over the weekend. I played a mixed set of my new original tunes and some of my favorite songs by others. Here's the set:
"Pocket and Soul"
"Epiphany" (Staind)
"Before it Gets to Me"
"Long Day" (Matchbox 20)
"Settling"
"Out of Our Hands"
"Gone Away" (Cold)
"Faithfully" (Journey)
"Zzyzx Rd" (Stone Sour)
"Dear Reason"
I had a blast jamming, meeting the locals, and hanging out with Guy, Jon, & Devin from Rockerbox and Mary, the owner of Traditions. I'm anxious to do more shows with those dudes and I'm super super excited about taking my band to Watseka in the future!
I should also mention how psyched I was to get to rock one of my cool new DropYa Fightwear shirts at the show. Thanks Shawn!
In other 'shows' news, I'm on board to play the Family Day to Support the Home with Hope at the Tippecanoe Co. Amphitheater on September 25th. Home with Hope is an organization that provides a pathway to recovery for alcoholics and drug addicts. It's going to be awesome joining forces with The Clutter, Snorb!, DJ Powder, and others to support a great cause! I'll update the Shows Page as more info comes in...
This concludes the weekly update. Next Monday I'll have more scoop on the new IND CD and what the band is up to.
I'm off to Sacred Apple to get some more ink done by *my main man* Eddie.

It's a new year and I'm ready to set a new pace. I set up a pretty strict schedule for myself and Monday is Blog-day. I also budgeted time in for writing and recording everyday. Hopefully, I'm able to switch gears and accomplish things. I'm making an attempt to chip away at the block every weekday and still have fun on the weekends.
*Fingers crossed*
We have the new single "Something To Die For" for sale on www.chemcoma.com now. It's been selling. Only $1!!! What are you waiting for?
It's looking like we'll shoot the video for the song next month. I better get into Sacred Apple & get my left sleeve finished before then!
Until next week...
